William Smillie (1851-1923) was a Scottish-born American artist and engraver known for his work on banknotes and stamps. He worked for the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing for over 30 years, and his designs can be seen on various U.S. currency and stamps from the late 1800s and early 1900s.
