Tennessee Williams was an American playwright, widely considered one of the greatest of the 20th century. He is known for works such as "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" which explored complex themes such as sexuality, relationships and mental illness. Williams won two Pulitzer Prizes and a Tony Award for his contributions to the theatre. He died in 1983.
