Sanford Meisner was an American actor and acting teacher who is best known for developing the Meisner technique, a form of method acting. He taught at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City and mentored many successful actors, including Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton. Meisner died in 1997 at the age of 91.
