Roddy McDowall (1928-1998) was a British-American actor best known for his roles in films such as "How Green Was My Valley," "Planet of the Apes," and "The Poseidon Adventure." He also had a successful career in television and theater. In addition to acting, McDowall was a photographer, author, and animal rights activist.
