Patrick Troughton was an English actor best known for his role as the second incarnation of the Doctor in the long-running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. Troughton played the Doctor from 1966-1969 and was known for his whimsical and mischievous portrayal of the character. He also had a long career in film and television, appearing in over 100 productions.
