He rose to fame in the 1980s with his roles in "Mad Max" and "Lethal Weapon" movies, and later directed and produced the Oscar-winning "Braveheart." Despite controversy surrounding his personal life, including anti-Semitic comments, Gibson continues to act and direct in Hollywood.
