Maurice Schwartz was a Ukrainian-born American actor, director, and producer. He was known for being the founder of the Yiddish Art Theatre in New York City and for his leading roles in Yiddish theatre productions. Schwartz also appeared in a few Hollywood films, including "The Jazz Singer" (1927).
