He gained fame for his role in the television series Los hombres de Paco and has since starred in various films including Tres metros sobre el cielo, Palmeras en la nieve, and Contratiempo. He has won several awards for his performances, including a Goya Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in No matarás.
