Maria Falconetti (born Renee Jeanne Falconetti) was a French stage actress best known for her portrayal of Joan of Arc in the silent film "The Passion of Joan of Arc" (1928). Despite only starring in a handful of films, Falconetti's performance in "The Passion of Joan of Arc" has been lauded as one of the greatest in cinema history.
