Malick Bowens was an actor and playwright originally from The Gambia. He began his career in theater before transitioning to film, appearing in films such as "Out of Africa" and "The Last Emperor." He also worked as a cultural ambassador for The Gambia and advocated for African arts and culture throughout his career. Bowens passed away in 2017.
