Kathryn Kirkpatrick is an American poet, essayist, and professor. She is the author of nine poetry collections, including "New Orleans," which won the 2006 North Carolina Book Award. Kirkpatrick is also a professor of ecology and environmental literature at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
