Judith Malina (1926-2015) was a German-born American theater practitioner, writer, and political activist. She co-founded the radical experimental theater troupe, The Living Theatre, in 1947, which challenged traditional theater conventions with its socially and politically engaged performances. Malina also wrote several books and essays on theater and revolution, and continued to direct and teach until her death at the age of 88.
