Jonathan Frid was actually an actor most known for his portrayal of vampire Barnabas Collins in the gothic soap opera "Dark Shadows." He was born in Canada in 1924 and began his acting career on stage before transitioning to film and television. Frid passed away in 2012 at the age of 87.
