John Lurie is an American musician, painter, and actor. He is the founder of the avant-garde jazz ensemble The Lounge Lizards and has collaborated with many musicians throughout the years. Lurie has also had acting roles in films such as Stranger Than Paradise and Down by Law. In recent years, he has focused on his painting career.
