Jean Yanne was a French actor, screenwriter, film director and composer who had a successful career in the 1960s and 1970s. He appeared in more than 80 films and won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival in 1972. His work often satirized French society and politics. Yanne died in 2003 at the age of 69.
