Irene Ryan was an American actress best known for her role as Granny on the television series "The Beverly Hillbillies." She began her career in vaudeville and appeared in over a dozen films before finding fame on television. Ryan was also a prolific stage actress, earning a Tony nomination in 1966. She died in 1973 at the age of 70.
