Irene Handl was a British character actress known for her distinctive voice and unconventional looks. Born in 1901, she began acting in the 1920s and appeared in over 100 films and numerous stage productions. Handl was also a successful writer and published several books during her lifetime. She passed away in 1987 at the age of 86.
