Herk Harvey was an American director, producer, and actor known for his cult classic horror film, Carnival of Souls. He began his career working for industrial and educational films before transitioning to independent filmmaking. Despite only directing a handful of films, Carnival of Souls has continued to be celebrated by horror fans and filmmakers alike. Harvey passed away in 1996 at the age of 75.
