Hedy Lamarr (1914-2000) was a Hollywood actress and inventor. She starred in many films during the 1930s and 1940s, including the iconic movie "Samson and Delilah." However, she also made significant contributions to science with her invention of a frequency-hopping system designed to prevent the interception of radio-controlled torpedoes during World War II.
