Edward Van Sloan was an American actor born in 1882 who worked primarily in the film industry. He is best known for his role as Professor Van Helsing in the 1931 film adaptation of Dracula. Van Sloan also had notable roles in other horror films such as Frankenstein and The Mummy. He passed away in 1964 at the age of 81.
