Earl Hamner, Jr.
Earl Hamner, Jr. was an American writer and producer, best known for creating the television series The Waltons, which was based on his own childhood experiences growing up in rural Virginia during the Great Depression. He also wrote several books and screenplays throughout his career. Hamner passed away in 2016.
