Dan O'Bannon was an American screenwriter, director, and visual effects designer. He is best known for writing the screenplay for the science fiction horror film Alien, as well as writing and directing the cult classic film The Return of the Living Dead. O'Bannon passed away in 2009 at the age of 63.
