Daisy Bates
Daisy Bates 0was an American civil rights activist and journalist who played a key role in the Little Rock Nine crisis in 1957. She served as a mentor and advisor to the African American students who were integrating into Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, and documented their experiences in her newspaper, The Arkansas State Press. Bates also co-founded the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) chapter in Arkansas.
