Chuck D, born Carlton Douglas Ridenhour, is an American rapper, author, and producer. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the rap group Public Enemy. Chuck D has also been a political and social activist throughout his career, speaking out against racism and promoting justice for Black Americans.
