Charles Ludlam was an American actor, director, and playwright, best known for founding the Ridiculous Theatrical Company. He was a major figure in the off-off-Broadway movement of the 1960s and 1970s, and his plays were known for their satirical and often outrageous content. Ludlam died in 1987 at the age of 44 due to complications from AIDS.
