Betsy Blair (1923-2009) was an American actress and dancer. She began her career as a model before landing her breakthrough role in the 1955 film "Marty," for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She continued to act in films and television throughout the 1950s and 1960s before eventually retiring from acting in the 1980s.
