Beah Richards was an American actress, poet, and playwright. She was known for her roles in films such as "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" and "In the Heat of the Night" and won an Emmy Award for her role on the TV series "Frank's Place." She was also a civil rights activist and a member of the Black Panther Party. Richards passed away in 2000 at the age of 80.
