Alan Thicke was a Canadian actor, songwriter, and game show host. He was best known for his role as Dr. Jason Seaver on the eighties sitcom Growing Pains. He was also a prolific songwriter, having written theme songs for numerous television shows including Wheel of Fortune and Diff'rent Strokes. Alan Thicke passed away in 2016 at the age of 69.
